Following yesterday’s exciting milestone, our government has reached yet another incredible milestone in our vaccine rollout – over seven million Ontarians are fully vaccinated! This milestone comes only six days after six million Ontarians were fully vaccinated.
As we prepare to enter Step Three of our Roadmap to Reopen and continue to safely and gradually ease public health measures, it’s critical that Ontarians get vaccinated to provide maximum protection against COVID-19 variants. Between May 15 and June 12, 2021, more than 83 per cent of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ontario were individuals who had not received either dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and more than 15 per cent had received one dose. We know that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective, and as Dr. Moore shared last week, they are our ticket out of the pandemic.
We continue to encourage all Ontarians to book their appointments for their first and second doses as soon as possible and to support family and friends who to may need assistance booking their appointments. Together, we can ensure that even more Ontarians benefit from a two-dose summer.
