The New Patient Care Tower, anticipated to open in 2029/30, will add 110 new inpatient beds for a total of 535 beds on the General site. It will include:
- An expanded and modern emergency department.
- 100% private patient rooms
- Brand new and expanded ICU
The new Long-Term Care Home to be operated by NYGH will feature 384 beds, making it one of Toronto’s largest homes. Construction is expected to start in spring 2024 and be completed in summer 2026.
