Summary
Our government continues to reach exciting, new milestone in our vaccine rollout – as of yesterday evening, over 80 per cent of adults aged 18 and over in Ontario have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine! While every dose brings us closer to the things we missed, this milestone brings us even closer to the end of the pandemic.
Yesterday, Ontario administered over 18 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, only six days after we surpassed 17 million doses – another incredible Team Ontario achievement!
As Ontario continues to safely ease public health measures under Step Three of Roadmap to Reopen, it’s critical that Ontarians get vaccinated to provide maximum protection against COVID-19 and its variants. We continue to encourage all Ontarians to book their appointments as soon as possible and to support family and friends who to may need assistance booking an appointment. All Ontarians aged 12 and over are eligible to book an appointment to receive their second dose sooner.
Together with our health system partners and our local public health units, we have made tremendous progress in our vaccine rollout. We are working closely with public health units, community organizations and other stakeholders to ensure that even more Ontarians benefit from a two-dose summer.
