Our government is supporting a more than $18 million investment by Abatement Technologies Limited to help the company meet increased demand for its products since the onset of COVID-19 with $2.5 million in support through the Ontario Together Fund.

This investment will allow the company to build a new facility and purchase new equipment to design and manufacture air purification and abatement products. The project will allow Abatement Technologies to expand its output significantly.

Construction on the company’s new facility broke ground in April 2021

To date, the project has created 21 new jobs. The project is expected to create another 40 jobs over the next three years. (Note: OTF funding does not require a job creation commitment.)

Abatement Technologies is a leader in clean air technologies. An Ontario manufacturer, the company is a leader in the design and manufacturing of powerful HEPA air purification and abatement products, leading the way in design, performance, quality, and reliability.

As we continue to ramp up vaccinations, it is more important than ever to ensure we are well prepared for any future challenges. Our government continues to support projects that will transform our ability to respond to a crisis, provide greater resilience, and strengthen our health care system while boosting our manufacturing sector.

Ontario is investing an additional $50 million in the Ontario Together Fund in 2021–22, to continue supporting local businesses to further enhance domestic supply chain capacity, help to get us through this pandemic, and ensure our preparedness for future challenges.

The renewed Ontario Together Fund is focusing on supporting homegrown manufacturing and innovation to combat COVID-19 and provide other goods critical to the health, safety, and security of Ontarians under the following strategic pillars:

  1. Strengthening Ontario’s domestic manufacturing capacity;
  2. Supporting homegrown technologies and innovative solutions;
  3. Strengthening Ontario’s MedTech ecosystem.

As of January 20, 2022, the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT) has supported 38 companies through the Ontario Together Fund, including Abatement Technologies, and 10 organizations in supplying emergency products including PPE as well as other solutions. https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1001448/ontario-invests-in-air-purification-solutions-in-fort-erie
