Terms of Reference for the Northern Road Link EA and Building a Made-in-Ontario Supply Chain for Innovative Technologies

This morning in Toronto, George Pirie, Minister of Mines, David Piccini, Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks and Greg Rickford, Minister of Northern Development and Minister of Indigenous Affairs announced that our government has approved the Terms of Reference for the Northern Road Link. The Northern Road Link will connect First Nations communities to the Ontario highway network and the critical minerals deposits in the Ring of Fire that will help secure a supply chain for electric vehicle manufacturing in Ontario.
Minister Pirie also announced recipients of the $5 million Critical Minerals Innovation Fund that is supporting Ontario-based companies that are leading the development of new mining technologies focused on building the critical minerals supply chain.
Together, these announcements are advancing access to the critical minerals in the Ring of Fire and supporting our goal to build a made-in-Ontario supply chain from mining critical minerals in the north to manufacturing electric vehicles in the south.
