National Housing Day

November 22 is National Housing Day, a day to reflect on the actions we have taken to address homelessness and to build more affordable housing in Ontario.

It is important that all Ontarians have a safe, stable, and secure place to call home and for the financial, social, and mental well-being of all residents in their community.

We continue to urge all levels of government to help address the province’s housing shortage. Our government will continue to work with our partners at all levels of government to make it easier for hardworking Ontarians to find the home that meets their unique needs and budget.

Ontario’s housing supply crisis is a problem that has been decades in the making. It will take both short-term strategies and long-term commitment from all levels of government, the private sector and not-for-profits to drive change.

That is why we will be releasing a new action plan every year over four years – to help build more homes and make life more affordable for Ontario families.
