Ontario has reached another exciting milestone in our vaccine rollout: 70% of Ontarians aged 12 and over have now received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine! This brings us closer to our target of 75% of eligible Ontarians aged 12 and over being fully vaccinated, one of the milestones we need to reach before exiting Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen.
Our vaccine rollout is making excellent progress, but the job is not over yet. More Ontarians still need their first and second shot to make sure they protect themselves and their family and friends from COVID-19 – especially against the Delta variant.
We encourage all members to raise awareness of this incredible milestone by posting on social media using the social posts and graphics provided below.
Note: Ontario will remain in Step Three of the Roadmap for at least 21 days and until 80% of the eligible population aged 12 and over has received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 75% have received their second, with no public health unit having less than 70% of their eligible population aged 12 and over fully vaccinated. Other key public health and health care indicators must also continue to remain stable. Upon meeting these thresholds, the vast majority of public health and workplace safety measures, including capacity limits for indoor and outdoor settings and limits for social gatherings, will be lifted. Only a small number of measures will remain in place.
